Practicing dental assistants will learn the basic principles and techniques of digital intraoral and panoramic radiography as they expose and evaluate radiographic images during laboratory sessions. This intensive two-week course educates dental assistants in the basic fundamentals of dental radiography. Successful course completion satisfies the Rhode Island Department of Health requirement for exposure of radiographs in the dental office setting.
Requirements
1. A minimum of six months of full-time chairside dental assisting experience is recommended.
2. Students are required to complete online coursework and attend all laboratory sessions. Students will be awarded with a certificate upon successful completion of all course requirements.
3. Purchase textbook (optional): Dental Radiography Principles and Techniques” by Iannucci and Howerton, 6 ed.  Elsevier, 2022.  ISBN:978-0-323-69550-3 or 5 ed. Elsevier, 2017. ISBN: 978-0-323-29742-4. The textbook may be purchased through Amazon or other online retailers.  The textbook is strongly recommended if you are preparing to take the DANB RHS exam.

Refund Policy:

Students must provide a minimum 48-hour notice prior to the start of a course in order to be eligible for a refund. Without proper notice or documented medical excuse, students will be required to re-register and pay full price. No partial refunds of tuition are made under any circumstances. Books and materials may be non-refundable depending on the course.  The registration fee is non-refundable unless the course is full or has been canceled by Workforce Partnerships. If a student requests a refund but has a balance due with the college, the money owed will be deducted from the refund.
