Transportation >> RI DMV Permit Test - other providers
« back to courses page

This section of the permit test is available only to those students that have completed and passed a 33-hour Online Driver Education class with one of the following providers (AAA, Newport County Driving School, Roger Williams University and Labonte’s).

Due to limited capacity for driver permit testing at the RI-DMV, CCRI is experiencing a significant increase in demand for driver permit testing. The fee for the Driver permit testing for individuals who have completed and passed a driver education program from another DMV-authorized driving school is $10.

Driver permit tests are offered at CCRI’s Flanagan Campus and Warwick Campus. Please do not schedule to take a driver permit test on more than one date. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, driver permit test class size is limited. We are adding new testing dates as quickly as possible.

Parents: If you are scheduling a driver permit test for your child, please enter the name and appropriate information of the child who completed the CCRI driver’s education course, not your name.

Proof of completion must be presented on the day of testing.
Students will not be allowed to test without it.

IMPORTANT: Individuals who require accommodations in a Drivers Ed Permit Test should contact at least 7 days prior to the test date. Please include your name, phone number, and best time to call in the e-mail.

All CCRI Workforce students and visitors to all CCRI campuses will be required to provide proof of Covid vaccination (including booster, if eligible) OR proof of a negative Covid test. Proof of Covid testing must be within 24 hours for Rapid Tests OR within 72 hours for PCR tests. Original paperwork OR a photo/screenshot is acceptable proof of both vaccination and dated negative Covid test.

Free no-appointment-needed Covid testing is available on CCRI campuses.

CCRI Covid testing schedule can be found here. Or you may schedule a COVID test at a state-run test site, visit or call 401-222-8022.
